The inflatable dam at Ramspol is often referred to as “balgestuw,” but it is not a weir. In the overview of the Rijkswaterstaat, it is therefore marked as Kering and not as Stuw. Technically, the inflatable dam resembles a hose dam and can be categorized as a semi-mobile hose system. The sluice between the Ketelmeer and the Zwarte Meer operates not with lift gates but with three inflatable elements. It is located north of the city of Kampen, about 100 meters west of the Ramspolbrug. It was built on behalf of the water management office Groot Salland by the Dutch company Hollandse Beton- en Waterbouw for around 100 million €.
