Van Schooten

A Rest Point offers the possibility of a short stop with coffee, tea or lemonade with some goodies, with residents in the outskirts of Salland. The Rest Points are clearly marked by means of a Rest Point sign and opened when the sign is actually 'open' on it.

The resting point is located at the foot of the Holterberg in the community of Espelo, located about 3 kilometers from the village of Holten and 4 kilometers from the Canadian cemetery. Our farm was founded around the 1850s. Until 1950 it was a mixed farm with cows, pigs and chickens. After this, demixing went quickly and only the dairy cows remained. Last year we stopped milking but the activities have continued elsewhere in the partnership. Rose calves are now fattened at our location.
