In the middle of Overijssel, between Nijverdal and Holten, lies the beautiful nature reserve the Sallandse Heuvelrug. The southern part of this ridge is formed by the Holterberg, a household name in the Netherlands. On the Holterberg you sometimes imagine yourself abroad, vast heathlands, forests and an impressive relief. The many hiking, cycling and horse riding trails make it a true paradise for the active, but also for a relaxing day on the terrace or in a train, covered wagon or car you are at the right place.
Enjoy the forests and beautiful views over moors, and you may even come across a deer or grouse!
