A Rest Point offers the opportunity for a short stop with coffee, tea, or lemonade along with some treats, at residents in the rural area of Salland. The Rest Points are clearly marked with a Rest Point sign and are open when the 'open' sign is displayed.
In 2003, Ingrid Roelants and Wim Odé entered the school and adapted the building to eventually serve as a training, course, exhibition space, office, and holiday apartment, in addition to a private residence. The lime, beech, and plane trees planted during the construction of the school are now on the municipal tree list, and the school itself became a municipal monument in 2000.
There is a beautiful walking route around the Frieswijk estate, through the forest and fields, which can be walked from the School in just over an hour, past the site of the former mansion, the beautifully restored coach house, and some old farms. For a short walk, the forest path leads directly from the school to the adjacent water extraction area.
