In its current form, the church dates back to the mid-15th century (1450-1485). The church is a so-called two-aisled hall church, each aisle having a 5/8 closed choir. Both halls are of equal size, approximately 45 m long and 10 m wide. So far, no satisfactory answer has been found to the question of why both halls are the same size. This is rarely seen in a church building.
