The Henriette Polak Museum in the city of Zutphen in the province of Gelderland was opened in 1975. Museum Henriette Polak is a museum for modern-classical painting and sculpture. It owes its name to one of its founders, the patron Henriette Polak-Schwarz. Museum Henriette Polak was born out of an artists' initiative. Together with the visual artist Joop Sjollema, Polak developed a plan for the establishment of a museum. This is how the Henriette Antoinette Foundation was born. This foundation started by collecting a collection of modern-classical works of art. It included work by artists such as Constant Nieuwenhuijs, Kees Maks, Wim Oepts, Kees Verwey, Jan Wiegers and Nicolaas Wijnberg.
