Fort Rammekens is a Dutch fort near Ritthem, at the mouth of the former Welzinge canal, which provided access to the port of Middelburg, a few kilometers east of Vlissingen on the Westerschelde. Originally, the fort was also known as Zeeburg. Until the French period, the fort was half in the open sea and had buildings on it. After that time, the fort lost much of its original allure.
