The New Amstel Bridge is a river crossing between the Amsteldijk (formerly Utrechtsezijde) and Weesperzijde. It connects De Pijp in Amsterdam-Zuid and Amsterdam-Oost. The bridge is in line with Ceintuurbaan, and another name for the bridge is therefore Ceintuurbaan Bridge. The bridge was designed by H.P. Berlage. It was completed in 1903 and was at that time the newest bridge over the Amstel. Officially, there is no Amstel Bridge or Old Amstel Bridge. This bridge was called "new" because the Hogesluis had the nickname Amstel Bridge.
