Middelburg is a municipality in the Dutch province of Zeeland, on the former island of Walcheren. The main town of Middelburg is also the capital and largest city of the province of Zeeland. The municipality has 49,214 inhabitants and borders Veere to the west and north, Goes and Borsele to the east, and Vlissingen to the south.
