Evertsoord is a village in the municipality of Horst aan de Maas, in the Dutch province of Limburg. The village has 230 inhabitants. The village of Evertsoord originated from one of the two labor camps in the then municipality of Sevenum. In these camps were the accommodations for the people who had been employed in the drainage of the peat area of the Sevenumse Peel since the end of the 1930s by the Work Fund, from 1939 the National Service for Employment Expansion, and after the war the Implementation Service for Works. The drainage officially started on March 10, 1938. By the end of 1939 and the beginning of 1940, the first farms appeared in the area. Eventually, the camp turned into a residential area, the core of a drainage village. The drainage officially came to an end on May 15, 1959.
