Maria Hoop, also spelled as Mariahoop or Maria-Hoop, is a church village in the municipality of Echt-Susteren in the Dutch province of Limburg. The correct spelling is Maria Hoop, without a hyphen and with capital letters. The place, which has about 1,315 residents, includes not only two neighborhoods but also the entire rural area located between Koningsbosch, the border with Germany, the municipal border with Roerdalen, and the nearby village of Pey. This makes it one of the largest places in the municipality in terms of area. Like the hamlets of Echterbosch and Putbroek, the core is arranged in the form of a ribbon village.
