The quarry in Winterswijk, near the hamlet of Ratum, is an open-pit mine where mainly limestone is extracted.
The quarry has been in operation since 1932, operated by the NV Winterswijkse Stone and Limestone Quarry, now part of Sibelco.
Of the three quarries, one is still in operation.
