The Tonnema candy factory from 1955 was built according to a design by Jo Boer. Characteristic of the building are the nine shed roofs. The facades are made of yellow facing bricks. The new factory was necessary due to the success of the Rangzuurtjes and KING peppermint. In the 1960s, the factory was expanded.
