The Wedren is a square in the Dutch city of Nijmegen, which is used as a parking lot and event area. It is located just outside the center of Nijmegen, between the Bijleveldsingel, the Prins Bernhardstraat, the Waldeck Pyrmontsingel, and the Vierdaagseplein in the Altrade neighborhood.
The area belonged to the region just outside the fortress walls. When these were demolished in the late 19th century, it was not developed as adjacent areas in Nijmegen-East and around the Groesbeekseweg and St. Annastraat. In the area, the society de Vereeniging was built, as well as a cycling track and a racing track, and there was a drill ground. In 1910 it was named Julianaplein. During World War II, the name 'Centrumpark' was in use, and in 1944 a part was again referred to as Julianapark. In 1955, the new Prins Hendrikstraat cut through the area, and it also became smaller due to construction. The area De Wedren had been called that since the beginning of the 20th century, but the name was never officially established until 2011.
