Atelier houses 1934
The complex of atelier houses on Zomerdijkstraat in Amsterdam is a key work in Dutch architecture of the 1930s. The architects, Zanstra, Giesen, and Sijmons, were members of Group '32, a group that was strongly inspired by the works of Le Corbusier. In their work, they aimed for a combination of functional architecture with artistic elements, which is clearly expressed in the atelier houses.
