Playground Association South in 1932.
Market for Jews
On November 3, 1941, by order of the German occupier, the playground on Gaaspstraat became a "Market for Jews."
Only here were they allowed to buy and sell. Many of them were taken away from this place. Of the 17,000 Jewish residents, 13,000 were murdered. For them, Truus Menger created the Children's Monument. Ed van Thijn unveiled it on November 3, 1986. Every year on November 3, the Market for Jews is commemorated.
