The Boskoop lift bridge in Boskoop is part of a set of three lift bridges, the other two of which are located in Alphen aan den Rijn and Waddinxveen. The lift bridges provide a road connection over the Gouwe. The Boskoop lift bridge dates from 1936.
Due to the very central location of the Boskoop lift bridge, it occupies an important place in the streetscape of the village centre of Boskoop. In the early 1990s, during a renovation of the lift bridge, safety for cyclists was significantly improved by creating a separate cycle path on the side of the bridge. The bridge regularly causes congestion for road traffic.
The bridge is a national monument.
