The Naarderbos is located by the Gooimeer and consists of a recreational area, marina, Naarderbos golf course, villa district, and business park.
The forest area was developed in the 1970s and redesigned around 2002. There is a 600-meter-long beach with a view of the Gooimeer, walking, cycling, and riding paths, and a 27-hole golf course.
In 2007, construction began on apartments and a new promenade along the Gooimeer.
