Roosendaal Station is a railway station in Roosendaal. The station is located on the railway lines Antwerp - Lage Zwaluwe, Roosendaal - Breda, and Roosendaal - Vlissingen.
During World War II, an artillery turret was located on top of the station building. On the attic, a wall painting of the artillery can still be found, which was applied by the German soldiers at the time. They stayed in the attic so that during an air attack, they could directly go to the roof to their anti-aircraft artillery. On September 14, 1944, calamity struck for the station building, and a bombing destroyed the entire station hall and part of the east wing.
After the war in 1949, it was decided not to rebuild the station hall in its original form, but a new smaller station hall was constructed under the direction of architect Sybold van Ravesteyn as an entrance for the remaining parts of the station building.
From the beginning, the station of Roosendaal has been an important border station between the Netherlands and Belgium.
