On the outskirts of the town of 's-Heerenberg lies the impressive castle Huis Bergh. It is one of the largest and most important castles in the Netherlands. The construction and history of its inhabitants date back to the Middle Ages. Over time, fires, wars, expansions, and embellishments have changed the appearance of the castle. From a medieval defensive stronghold, the castle gradually transformed into a splendid residence. The castle is furnished with an important collection of art, mainly from the late Middle Ages.
