The Duffelt

Molen De Duffelt is a belt mill built in 1867 and is located at Botsestraat 23 in Kekerdom. There is 1 pair of millstones. The millstones are made of artificial stone with a diameter of 140 cm. The wingspan is 24.20 m and has welded iron rods with an Old Dutch wing shape. The inner rod is from 1988 and the outer rod from 1976. The cap of the mill is covered with roofing felt and equipped with an English wheel gear, which is a wheel gear with iron rails and iron rollers. The wheel gear is operated with a winch. The upper shaft is a cast iron shaft from 1873 from De Prins van Oranje and comes from the mill in Dreumel. The shaft and the wheel gear are lubricated with lard and the combs (teeth) on the gears with beeswax. The brake, which slows down the sail cross, is equipped with a Flemish brake with a brake drum. The lifting mechanism for raising the bags of grain and lowering the flour is a drag lifting mechanism. The mill was restored in 1938, 1965, 1977, and 1988. During the restoration in 1938, parts from the mill in Dreumel were used. In 1977, the mill was made mill-ready again. In 1988, the inner rod was renewed.
