The motte Eys was a medieval motte-and-bailey castle located near Eys in the Dutch province of Limburg and is situated on part of the Boerenberg. Currently, only the castle mound of this motte castle and the firestone ring wall with an embedded staircase remain. The motte hill is a so-called Abschnittsmotte. This means that instead of building up a hill, the hill was formed by excavating the connection of the hill cape with the underlying mountain. Over this excavated dry moat lies a small arch bridge that connects the motte with the land behind it.
