Hulshorst is a village in the municipality of Nunspeet, in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It has 1,980 inhabitants. The village is located southwest of Nunspeet and north of Harderwijk and Hierden along the Harderwijkerweg, formerly known as the Zuiderzeestraatweg. This road approximately forms the boundary between the Veluwe massif and the agricultural lands along the Veluwemeer. In Hulshorst, there are several estates, including that of the former manor Hulshorst, Huize Groeneveld, and Barrebos. Castle De Essenburgh originally lay in Hulshorst, but since the municipal reorganization in 1972, this castle falls under Hierden. Hulshorst has a windmill named De Maagd and its own football club and tennis club; furthermore, the village has its own equestrian association with a riding school.
