Low Keppel

Laag-Keppel is, like Bronkhorst, a town with city rights in the municipality of Bronckhorst, in the Dutch province of Gelderland. Laag-Keppel was granted city rights in 1404 - as Keppel city rights. Laag-Keppel is located in the Achterhoek, along the river the Oude IJssel between Doetinchem and Doesburg and has 594 inhabitants.[1] To the north lies the village of Hummelo, to the northwest are the villages of Hoog-Keppel, Voor-Drempt, and Achter-Drempt, and to the southwest lies the hamlet of Eldrik. The town of Laag-Keppel, together with these four villages and the hamlet, formed the former municipality of Hummelo and Keppel from 1825 to 2005, which was merged with several other places in the area to form the municipality of Bronckhorst.
