In early 1840, it was decided to build a railway line between Haarlem and Leiden. In 1945, the Lisse stop was removed because it was too far from the city center. The Vereniging Oud Lisse saved the station from demolition and restored it to its former state. Since 1944, the former station has been used as a restaurant.
