In the early morning of May 10, 1940, the German army invades the Netherlands. Part of this army has to take the Grebbeberg and occupy Rhenen on the first day of the attack. The inexperienced and poorly armed Dutch troops face an opponent who is numerically superior, vastly superior in armament, and experienced in warfare. Nevertheless, the defenders manage to hold the Germans for three days. Three days in which the Grebbeberg and its surroundings are the scene of fierce fighting. Three days that mean the end for more than 415 Dutch soldiers on and around the Grebbeberg.
