The Snouck van Loosenpark in Enkhuizen is the second oldest garden village in the Netherlands. It is also one of the first social housing projects in the country. The park, which opened on July 19, 1897, consists of 50 'workers' houses' and 1 'supervisor's house'. The construction of the Snouck van Loosenpark was funded by the Snouck van Loosen Fund, managing the inheritance of Margaretha Maria Snouck van Loosen, the last surviving of six daughters of Cornelia Petronella van Loosen and Samuël Snoeck.
