The Battery under Brakel is part of the New Dutch Waterline in Brakel in the municipality of Zaltbommel. The battery is more or less equivalent to the Battery under Poederoijen. Both batteries are small defensive works that close off the west of Bommelerwaard against attackers.
The Battery under Brakel is located on the Waal dike west of Brakel and east of Slot Loevestein and the Wilhelmina Lock in the Flooded Meuse. South of the fort are various military locks that were necessary for the flooding of the forward area.
