Fort het Hemeltje (officially: Fort bij 't Hemeltje) is a Dutch fort between Utrecht and Houten. The fort is part of the New Dutch Waterline. The fort is named after a farm annex inn that used to stand there. It is the last built and most modern fort of the Waterlinie. The Fort was built in 1877-1881 (designed by engineer officer Cool) and was part of the advanced ring of forts to defend the Houtense Vlakte. The fort also offered a view of the Utrecht - Boxtel railway line. Since about 1995, the fort has been in the hands of the Forestry Commission.
