The Johannes Kerkhovenpolder is an area that was reclaimed from the Dollard in 1875 and 1876, located in the municipality of Eemsdelta in the northeastern part of the Dutch province of Groningen. The nearest place is Woldendorp. Until 1990, the polder belonged to the municipality of Termunten. The lands for the reclamation were purchased by the Amsterdam banker Johannes Kerkhoven. Kerkhoven had ambitious plans to reclaim a large part of the Dollard. Unlike older reclamations, they did not wait until the salt marsh development had progressed to the point where it would no longer be inundated by high water. The polder was dike-closed at an earlier stage.
