The Broekmolen (or: Broekermolen) probably dates from 1773, the year shown in wall anchors. At that time, the complex consisted of a small grain and oil mill and a house under one roof. On the other side of the yard were the barns. The mill received water from a reservoir, which received the water from a mill branch of the Gulp.
In 1906 the mill building was extended, the mill and waterwheel were enlarged. The old small mill was demolished and a larger mill was added. During and after the First World War, the water wheel was connected to a 110 Volt alternator. As a result, the surrounding houses received electric light.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, only baking rays and feed grain were ground. The mechanism for the oil mill had been removed. The mill function disappeared when the miller died in 1962. Since 1980 the mill has been completely renovated and used as a residence.
