Sweijer and Baaks are two names used for one hamlet in Simpelveld, in the municipality of Simpelveld in South Limburg. However, Sweijer is the more commonly used name by the local population. The hamlet is located between the hamlets of Molsberg and Rodeput and lies on a slope that forms the transition between the Eyserbeek valley and the Plateau of Ubachsberg. Baaks is derived from Jonkheer Baxen, who used to be the owner of the Sweijer estate. The A76 motorway is nearby. Between the motorway and the hamlet lies the Groeve Sweijer.
