The Prinsessesingel is a street in the first quadrant of Klein Italië in the city center of the Dutch town of Venlo. The street runs from the Roermondsepoort in a westerly direction to the Professor Gelissensingel.
During the demolition of the fortifications of Venlo, the so-called Bridge Plan was drawn up on this side of the city center, which means that a railway bridge was built for the Staatslijn E. As a result, the city walls were demolished and the neighborhood was redesigned. In the first years after the demolition, a military barracks was built on the newly constructed Bridge Street with two building blocks, the Groot Blok and the Klein Blok. Together, these buildings housed 750 soldiers. The Klein Blok had its entrance on Vleesstraat while the entrance of the Groot Blok was on Bridge Street. At that time, the street was located on the south side of the rundown neighborhood 't Hetje, which was demolished in 1938-1939 as part of a redevelopment plan.
