The mill Hermien is located at Varsseveldseweg no. 88 in Harreveld, in the Achterhoek. The mill is situated on a site that was part of the property under Harreveld Castle. This was owned in the 18th century by Johanna Magdalena Catharina Judith, Countess of Dorth, who was executed by the patriots in Winterswijk in 1799 due to her Orangist activities. Her possessions were sold at judicial auction to J.J.S. van Raesfelt, a physician in Bocholt. He had the mill built in 1819. His granddaughter, Bernardine de Both, bequeathed all her possessions, including the mill, to the Roman Catholic parish of Harreveld in 1900. The parish sold it in 1926 to the miller G.J. Wolterink. His widow took over from 1937 to 1951, and finally, her son J.J. Wolterink was the miller until 1974.
