The Bataaf mill is a gristmill that was built in 1801 at Bataafseweg 20 in Winterswijk and was in operation for grinding grain until 1958. The mill owes its name to the Batavian Republic. It was founded by the Reformed Church to be able to pay the preachers with the proceeds. From 1854, the mill was operated by Batavian from the family in Lintum.
The mill is a bell mill with a wooden octagon clad in oak planks, which were in turn covered with roof leather. The stretched sails were equipped with Ten Have valves. The mill had two pairs of grinding stones. In 1964, the sails were removed from the mill and ongoing operations were halted. Subsequently, the mill was used as a storage facility.
The mill was fitted with silos from the now-closed family feed company in Lintum. The cap was seasoned with a wheelbarrow with iron wheels in wooden trolleys.
