The Mill of Bels is a watermill in Mander, about one kilometre outside Vasse. This overshot mill on the Mosbeek was built in 1725 as a paper mill. Hendrik Meyer was the first papermaker. After 1845, when the paper-making business was less and less profitable, widow Meyer had a new water mill built on the other bank of the Mosbeek. She used this for grinding chicory, which was used as a coffee substitute. In 1860 this mill was converted into a flour mill. The mill pond was built in 1874. In 1916 Jannes Bels bought the mills. Landschap Overijssel has been the owner since 1958. In 1962, on the site of the old paper mill, the Watermill Bels tearoom was built. In an outbuilding there is an exhibition about Overijssel windmills.
