Within the Diepenring, the street is called the Oude Kijk in 't Jatstraat; outside of it lies the Nieuwe Kijk in 't Jatstraat. Originally, the street was also called Rechte Jat, while the current Kromme Elleboog was then known as the Kromme Jat. The street runs from Zwanestraat to the diepenring. South of Zwanestraat, the Kijk in 't Jatstraat continues as Stoeldraaierstraat to the Vismarkt.
