The Pier Pander Museum is a museum in the city of Leeuwarden dedicated to the artistic legacy of the Frisian sculptor Pier Pander. The establishment of the Pier Pander Museum in Leeuwarden in 1954 is thanks to Nicolaas Petrus de Koo. Around 1900, Pier Pander, who was born in Drachten and lived in Rome, was the most famous sculptor in the Netherlands. Upon his death, he bequeathed his studio collection to the municipality of Leeuwarden, on the condition that a temple would be erected for his magnum opus, a group of five marble statues, and a museum for the rest of his work.
