Culture spinnerij de Vasim is a former factory building on Winselingseweg in Nijmegen that has been used as a workshop for artists and cultural entrepreneurs since 2002.
De Vasim was built in 1948 as part of the art silk spinning mill Nyma. Nyma closed in 1969, and in 1970 production of carboxymethylcellulose began. Between 1985 and 2000, the building was used as a fly ash factory under the name VliegAsSInterMaatschappij, from which the name VASIM is derived. In 2002, a tent maker settled in the building, attracting artists to the empty factory hall. Since then, the building has been promoted as Cultuurspinnerij De Vasim, and parts are rented out to individual artists, theater groups, and other creative organizations.
