Kromhout Barracks

The Kromhout Barracks was a barracks in Tilburg that existed from 1909 to 1988. Unlike the similarly named Utrecht barracks, which is named after Lieutenant General Kromhout, the Tilburg barracks is named after Major General Kromhout.
The complex was located between Korenbloemstraat, Bredaseweg, Diepenstraat, and Ruysdaelstraat and was constructed between 1909 and 1932. It was a barracks consisting of various detached buildings amidst a lot of greenery, where there was also a parade ground. Originally, it was a cavalry barracks, a branch of the armed forces for which the namesake had significant organizational merits. He received supervision over a newly established state horse colt depot.
