What is special about this nature reserve is that it is still in its infancy. Ruygeborg is new nature and will develop significantly in the coming years into a small-scale, varied, wet nature area with an open appearance.
Ruygeborg connects the Vinkeveense Plassen with the Nieuwkoopse Plassen. And this connection proves to be very important: the first spoonbill has already been seen there!
