The monument consists of a round bench with a standing plaque. The bench offers you the opportunity to take a moment to rest and reflect on the text:
"IN MEMORY OF THE UNITS OF THE 1st BRITISH AIRBORNE DIVISION AND THE 1st POLISH INDEPENDENT PARACHUTE BRIGADE WHO LANDED IN THIS AREA ON 17, 18 AND 19 SEPTEMBER 1944. FROM HERE, THEY ADVANCED TOWARDS ARNHEM TO CAPTURE THE ROAD BRIDGE AS PART OF OPERATION 'MARKET GARDEN'. THE BATTLE OF ARNHEM LASTED FROM 17 TO 26 SEPTEMBER 1944."
