The watermill of Wijlre is one of the most famous watermills in South Limburg, with its two water wheels. It is part of a large farm, of which the mill wing with the living area is located along the Geul river. The main building is made of marl and brick, and the windows and doors have hardstone frames. Until the beginning of this century, the gable roof with the wolf ends was covered with slates.
