Landgoed Den Treek Henschoten

When in 1841 Arnoud Jan de Beaufort married Anna Aleida Stoop, the estates of Den Treek and Henschoten came together in one family: De Beaufort. In 2016 it is still a real family estate. It is a joint property of no less than 500 descendants. The Estate's statutes state that it must be sustainably maintained for future generations.
The area covers no less than 2000 ha and extends into the triangle Amersfoort-Maarn-Austerlitz. It is a special area because it connects the higher parts of the Utrechtse Heuvelrug with the lower, wet parts of the Gelderse Vallei. The owners manage the estate with a high degree of involvement, which is evidenced by a programme of development of new nature that brings back rare plants and animals.
