Groenendaal is the southernmost point of the municipality of Apeldoorn and is sandwiched between the A50 and the Loenermark nature reserve. The residential core has one street, called Groenendaal, which administratively falls under loenen, 6 kilometres to the northeast. There are six houses and an estate annex caravan park. Although the hamlet is located right next to the highway, it can only be reached by a long detour for cars from there. However, there are entrances and exits on both sides of the A50 for bus stops for Groenendaal, which can only be used when the rush hour lanes are closed. During peak hours, shuttle buses run on the parallel road.
