The monumental building at Dorpsstraat 19 in the town of Ouderkerk aan den IJssel, in the Dutch province of South Holland, was built next to the former craft house. The building at Dorpsstraat 19, like the neighboring building at number 17, was built on the so-called church weather, which was owned by the church of Ouderkerk. The oldest buildings in the village centre of Ouderkerk developed around this area. Already in 1494 there is talk of a house on this site. In 1643 a yard of this house was split off. In 1646 the house was split into two parts. This split was reversed in 1881. The two separate parts of the building are easily recognizable. In the current building you can still find remnants of the buildings from the 17th century. In the 19th century, a bakery was located in the building. The building owes its name "d' Ouwe Backerij" to this. Initially, the bakery was located in the right part. After the Second World War, the bakery was moved to the left part and the right part was used as a house. In 2000 the building was restored and then, from 2004, leased to the historical association "Ouderkerck op d'IJssel" and the foundation "Senioren Convent Ouderkerk".
