The Hoge Gouwespoorbrug near Gouda spans the river Gouwe and is part of the Gouda - The Hague railway line. It is a four-track bascule bridge consisting of a movable bridge and two concrete approach bridges. On each river pier, there are two concrete towers measuring 45 meters high. Coupling tubes and lift tubes provide the connection between the four towers. At the bottom of one of the towers, there is a bridge operator's station. The bridge replaces the second Gouwespoorbrug, a drawbridge built in 1909.
