The Gelkenes Mill is one of the three wipmills on the Molenkade in Groot-Ammers along the water of the Ammersche Boezem. The mill dates from 1596 or earlier, and until 1965 it drained the Liesveld Polder. There are living quarters in the Gelkenes Molen. The windmill was restored in 1979/80 and on a voluntary basis is draining the Liesveld polder. The Gelkenes Mill is one of the few mills in the Netherlands that still runs with potrods. The mill, owned by the SIMAV, can only be visited by appointment.
