De Hoop is a round stone scaffolding mill from 1897 in Zoetermeer, South Holland. De Hoop was built to replace an earlier "wind and steam grist mill, also fur mill" of Bastiaan Hoogenboezem on the same spot, which burned down in the early morning of January 16, 1897. Presumably this was an octagonal wooden mill. In 1936 the ongoing work was demolished from the mill and since then De Hoop was exclusively used as a grain silo. After a major restoration that lasted from 1983 to 1986, the mill was milling again. Since then, grain has been milled weekly in the mill in a traditional way. On Fridays and Saturdays the mill shop is open and all kinds of baking supplies are sold. Most of these are produced in the mill.
