The history of Beukenhorst dates back to 1878, when notary Wintgens had his residence and office built here and lived there until 1913.
From 1913 to 1917, notary Piereij maintained an office here, and from 1917 to the 1970s, the Merckelbach brothers lived here. Around 1978, new residents arrived who transformed the building into guesthouse Beukenhorst (due to the beech trees in the garden).
In 1995, the guesthouse was taken over by Marie-José and Urs Kaufmann-Janssen, and it was converted into a hotel.
